Big Brook Dam
One of the most loved swimming spots near Stargazers is Big Brook Dam. Just a short drive, Big Brook Dam offers calm freshwater swimming, a sandy beach-style entry area, shaded picnic spaces, walking trails around the water’s edge, peaceful forest surroundings.  It’s ideal for families as well as couples looking for an easy and scenic place to relax beside the water. 

Pemberton Pool is one of the most loved swimming spots in the Southern Forests and a favourite with both locals and visitors. Set among towering karri trees in Pemberton Forest Park, it’s a beautiful place for a refreshing swim, picnic, or relaxed afternoon by the water. Originally created in the late 1920s by damming Lefroy Brook, the pool has been a community swimming place for generations and is now heritage listed. 

 

Visitors love the calm freshwater swimming in a natural forest setting, BBQ facilities and change rooms nearby,grassy picnic areas and shaded spaces, proximity to walking trails and the mountain bike park.  The pool ranges from shallow sections suitable for families through to deeper swimming areas up to around five metres.

 

If you feel like exploring a little further afield, beautiful swimming spots such as Barrabup Pool near Nannup, Glenoran Pool, and several peaceful access points along the Donnelly River and Warren River offer wonderful opportunities to discover quieter corners of the Southern Forests. These forest-fringed river pools are perfect for a refreshing swim, a picnic beside the water, or simply slowing down and enjoying the natural surroundings on a scenic day drive.
